High-Speed and Airport Links

Indonesia's fast and dedicated-purpose rail services, which sit outside the conventional intercity network. Whoosh, the Jakarta to Bandung high-speed line, opened in 2023 and is operated by KCIC rather than KAI, so it uses separate stations and a separate booking system. Proposed extensions towards Surabaya and Banyuwangi remain unbuilt pending resolution of the operator's financing. This section also covers the airport rail links at Soekarno-Hatta in Jakarta, Yogyakarta International and Kualanamu near Medan.
