Whoosh runs 142km between Bandung and Halim in east Jakarta at up to 350km/h. Heading for Jakarta you board at one of two stations outside the city: Tegalluar Summarecon to the east, where trains start, or Padalarang to the west, where they call about 18 minutes later. Some trains also stop at Karawang, which opened in December 2024. From Padalarang the run to Halim takes around 30 to 35 minutes; from Tegalluar allow 45 to 50.
How often: since 14 March 2026 KCIC has run 62 trips a day, roughly 31 in each direction. The first train leaves Tegalluar at 06:05 and the last at 21:05, so there is usually a departure every half hour or so through the day.
Getting to the train. Neither station is central, and this is the part that decides whether Whoosh actually saves you time. From central Bandung the easiest option is the KA Feeder from Bandung station to Padalarang, timed to meet Whoosh departures. Since March 2026 the feeder leaves from a new waiting room on the west side of Bandung station, reached through the North Gate on Jalan Kebon Kawung, not from the old east-side entrance. Tegalluar suits you if you are staying in eastern Bandung, but the roads there clog at weekends, so leave plenty of time.
Arriving at Halim. Halim is in east Jakarta, well away from Gambir and the old town. The LRT Jabodebek stops at the station, or take a taxi or ride-hail car. Door to door, the 40-minute headline time is usually closer to ninety minutes.
Where to book: the Whoosh app and ticket.kcic.co.id, or Access by KAI, Livin' by Mandiri, BRImo, wondr by BNI, tiket.com, Traveloka and Trip.com. Fares are dynamic and vary by time of day and class (Premium Economy, Business and First), so check the price when you book.
Whoosh or the scenic line? If you are going to central Jakarta and are not in a hurry, the conventional Bandung to Jakarta train runs from Bandung station to Gambir in about three hours, over the Priangan hills, and costs less. Whoosh makes sense for east Jakarta, for business trips, or when time matters more than the view. For the opposite direction, see Whoosh: Jakarta to Bandung.
Journey times vary by service and season. Confirm against current schedules before booking.
