Indonesia's premium and heritage rail experiences, where the train itself is the point rather than a way of getting somewhere. This covers the classes that sit above eksekutif on scheduled services — Compartment Suite, Luxury Sleeper, Panoramic and the KAI Wisata tourist carriages — along with the surviving steam operations in Central Java and the Nusantara Explorer luxury sleeper, which KAI launched commercially in September 2026. Several of these run on routes already covered elsewhere on this site; the difference is the carriage, the service and the price, not the destination.
