The airport train starts at Manggarai and calls at BNI City (Sudirman Baru), Duri, Rawa Buaya and Batu Ceper before terminating at Soekarno-Hatta Airport station. Allow just under an hour from Manggarai and around 48 minutes from BNI City, with departures roughly every half hour from early morning until late evening.
Where to board: BNI City is the most convenient for central hotels, linked on foot to Sudirman KRL station and the MRT at Dukuh Atas. Manggarai is the main KRL interchange, so it suits anyone coming in by commuter train from elsewhere in greater Jakarta. Duri connects with the KRL line from Tangerang.
Who runs it: the line is operated by KAI Commuter (PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia), not by KAI's long-distance arm, so tickets are not sold alongside intercity trains. Buy them through the official KA Bandara reservation site, the Access by KAI app, or the vending machines at the stations. Cash is not accepted on board.
Why take it: the road to Soekarno-Hatta can take anywhere from 45 minutes to well over two hours depending on traffic and time of day. The train does not vary, and for a flight with a fixed departure time that predictability is worth more than the fare difference.
At the airport end: the train arrives at a dedicated station linked to the terminals by the Skytrain people-mover. Allow ten to fifteen minutes from the platform to your terminal on top of the journey time, and check the first and last departures if your flight is very early or very late.
For the journey into the city, see Soekarno-Hatta Airport to Jakarta.
Journey times vary by service and season. Confirm against current schedules before booking.
Indicative bands only. KAI adjusts fares by season and subclass, so treat these as a guide to the order of magnitude rather than a quote.
