Soekarno-Hatta Airport to Jakarta

The airport train runs from Soekarno-Hatta into the city, calling at Batu Ceper, Rawa Buaya, Duri and BNI City (Sudirman Baru) before terminating at Manggarai. Journey time is roughly 48 minutes to BNI City and just under an hour to Manggarai, with departures about every half hour from early morning until late evening.

Who runs it: the line is operated by KAI Commuter (PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia), not by KAI's long-distance arm, so tickets are not sold alongside intercity trains. Buy them through the official KA Bandara reservation site, the Access by KAI app, or the vending machines at the stations. Cash is not accepted on board.

Why it matters: the road journey from Soekarno-Hatta can take anywhere from 45 minutes to well over two hours depending on traffic and time of day. The train does not vary. For a flight with a fixed departure time, that predictability is worth more than the fare difference.

Trains run from a dedicated station connected to the airport terminals by the Skytrain people-mover, so allow ten to fifteen minutes to reach the platform from your terminal.

Onward connections: Manggarai is a major interchange for the KRL commuter network, which reaches most of the greater Jakarta area. BNI City is closer to the Sudirman and Thamrin business districts and is linked on foot to Sudirman KRL station and the MRT at Dukuh Atas. Duri connects with the KRL line towards Tangerang.
